Meet the team!

Our teachers offer exceptional dance experience and funky choreography, keeping students engaged with fresh content each week.

Founded with aroha.

At Step Out, we are a tight-knit team who are founded on creativity, passion, resilience and friendship. Through dance we teach life skills that are transformative in our students lives. Our teachers create an inclusive, warm, and comfortable environment for our students to thrive, grow and express themselves.

Meet the directors.

Atareta Bridge-Comer and Molly Gare are a dynamic duo. Through their dedication and energetic flavour of teaching, both directors lead the Step Out team to be confident, respectful and well rounded.

Renowned for innovative, vibrant choreography that's always popping with colour. Ata and Molly's long term friendship and shared love of dance radiates though the studio and their dance community.

They love what they do and are excited to move, groove and grow together.

"Step Out is about being part of a family - their focus on having fun creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that inspires a positive attitude to dancing built on respect and support for each other. We wouldn’t want to dance with anyone else."

Parent, Leontine Vanmanen.

"Our family love Step Out Dance Company! The teachers are enthusiastic, talented, and very supportive of the students and the studio is beautiful. It has been a pleasure watching my daughters' ability and confidence grow over the past three years."

Parent, Jiana Benham.

“We've been part of the Step out whanau for about four years now and I have seen my daughter's dance abilities grow and grow, and more importantly for us so has her confidence."

Parent, Jo Macdonald.

Molly Gare.

Owner & Director, Bachelor of Applied Arts in Dance.

Teaching tamariki is my greatest pleasure. Understanding what makes each dancer work to the best of their abilities is what I strive for.

Assisting in growing co-ordination, strength and creativity through inclusive and inspiring learning. With innovative choreography and funky flare I believe there is so much room for exploring the world of dance and technique.

My mission is to spread the love of dance through our community with a vibrant, positive and holistic approach to teaching.

Creating and engaging the youth of today is exciting and enriching. I am passionate about creating a space for all ages to realise their full potential.

I encourage my students to step out of their comfort zones and onto the dance floor with confidence. Teaching at Step Out is full of fun, my mission is to mentor our dancers to gain performance and life skills.

Through encouragement, fresh choreography and a passion for teaching I love helping the next generation be the best they can be.

Erika Sullivan.

Step Out Teacher.

Teaching at Step Out is a privilege. Working with our students to better their technique and understanding of movement is incredibly rewarding.

It’s a pleasure watching our dancers learn about their body’s and minds alike. My mission is to guide our dancers to express themselves freely, with confidence and style.

I always give 100% to my students and expect the same in return, we learn together, thats what makes Step Out a connected whanau.

Seth Ward.

Acrobatics Teacher, NZ School of Dance Student.

I’m hugely passionate about teaching Acrobatics. My mission is to teach our students new and exciting skills with an emphasis on safety.

Acrobatic skills enhance every style of dance its a pleasure working with each student towards their personal goals. We are always working to gain strength and control to perform skills with grace and ease.

Teaching acrobatics at Step Out is lots of fun, the students are keen to learn and are always up for trying something new.

Sadie Wilton.

Step Out Teacher.

I’ve been dancing and assisting with Step Out for 9 years. I love seeing our Step Out kids grow in their skills and confidence.

It makes my heart very full and constantly inspires me. I can’t wait for the opportunity to become a part of our little hip hoppers journeys!

This style made me fall in love with dance and I hope it can do the same for them.

Kiki Miwa.

Step Out Teacher.

I'm passionate about creating safe and happy learning environments where young dancers can feel safe to discover more of their craft.

I encourage my students to research their body's potential through love, care, fun, and love for ‘mistakes’ as it is ‘mistakes’ that teach you about your body the most.

It is an honor to support the next generation of artists and to help them reach their goals as dancers and as people.

Step Out Dance Company is a home away from home for our daughters. It’s such a happy place for them to be and they have developed such awesome relationships with the students and teachers.

They absolutely love their classes, and we are so happy with how much they have developed and improved in their dancing, performance and over-all confidence.

The teachers are full of energy and fun but are also highly trained and knowledgeable. The choreography is fabulous, and the shows are always such a treat to watch. We wouldn’t dance anywhere else!
