STEP OUT DANCE COMPANY

Meet the team!

Our teachers offer exceptional dance experience and funky choreography, keeping students engaged with fresh content each week.

Founded with aroha.

At Step Out, we are a tight-knit team who are founded on creativity, passion, resilience and friendship. Through dance we teach life skills that are transformative in our students lives. Our teachers create an inclusive, warm, and comfortable environment for our students to thrive, grow and express themselves.

Meet the directors.

Atareta Bridge-Comer and Molly Gare are a dynamic duo. Through their dedication and energetic flavour of teaching, both directors lead the Step Out team to be confident, respectful and well rounded.

Renowned for innovative, vibrant choreography that's always popping with colour. Ata and Molly's long term friendship and shared love of dance radiates though the studio and their dance community.

They love what they do and are excited to move, groove and grow together.

"Step Out is about being part of a family - their focus on having fun creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that inspires a positive attitude to dancing built on respect and support for each other. We wouldn’t want to dance with anyone else."

Parent, Leontine Vanmanen.

"Our family love Step Out Dance Company! The teachers are enthusiastic, talented, and very supportive of the students and the studio is beautiful. It has been a pleasure watching my daughters' ability and confidence grow over the past three years."

Molly Gare.

Creative Director, Bachelor of Applied Arts in Dance.

Teaching tamariki is my greatest pleasure. Understanding what makes each dancer work to the best of their abilities is what I strive for.

Assisting in growing co-ordination, strength and creativity through inclusive and inspiring learning. With innovative choreography and funky flare I believe there is so much room for exploring the world of dance and technique.

My mission is to spread the love of dance through our community with a vibrant, positive and holistic approach to teaching.

Atareta Bridge-Comer.

Artistic Director, Bachelor of Applied Arts in Dance.

Creating and engaging the youth of today is exciting and enriching. I am passionate about creating a space for all ages to realise their full potential.

I encourage my students to step out of their comfort zones and onto the dance floor with confidence. Teaching at Step Out is full of fun, my mission is to mentor our dancers to gain performance and life skills.

Through encouragement, fresh choreography and a passion for teaching I love helping the next generation be the best they can be.

Erika Sullivan.

Studio Manager & Teacher.

Teaching at Step Out is a privilege. Working with our students to better their technique and understanding of movement is incredibly rewarding.

It’s a pleasure watching our dancers learn about their body’s and minds alike. My mission is to guide our dancers to express themselves freely, with confidence and style.

I always give 100% to my students and expect the same in return, we learn together, thats what makes Step Out a connected whanau.

Step Out Dance Company is a home away from home for our daughters. It’s such a happy place for them to be and they have developed such awesome relationships with the students and teachers.

They absolutely love their classes, and we are so happy with how much they have developed and improved in their dancing, performance and over-all confidence.

The teachers are full of energy and fun but are also highly trained and knowledgeable. The choreography is fabulous, and the shows are always such a treat to watch. We wouldn’t dance anywhere else!
